Anne H.'s Story

I left All Souls in March of the 7th grade to move to Springfield, VA just outside Washington, D. C. I went to high school there and then my first year of college in Wisconsin. I found I was a little too far away from home, so I transferred to James Madison University with a semester at George Mason while I was waiting to get in. I attended Virginia Commonwealth University for Graduate School but moved back to Harrisonburg before I could finish. I have been a teacher and librarian. I also worked as an Educational Evaluator for the Dept. of Corrections in Richmond, VA, which I found very rewarding, so much so that I...Expand for more
later volunteered teaching GED and and a college literature class at a medium security correctional facility for many years. I moved to Fernandina Beach, FL in 1988 and have lived here on Amelia Island ever since. I am presently retired and helping my daughter homeschool her children for the last 8 years. One has graduated and the other is 13. It has been wonderful!. I enjoyed my time at All Souls and learned so much that has influenced my life. I visited one in 1984 and connected with Mary Clair Kenny and Sister Madelyn. I have no idea what has happened to any of my classmates and would love to find out more.

I got the news yesterday that my dear Aunt Ruth passed away. I know I am going to miss her and I am just one of a huge number of people who loved her. I am so grateful that I got to have a long visit with her this March.
